it’s preposterous
my face and body and mind
illusion mostly
not so pretty now
things don’t make sense generally
there’s no explaining
what are the reasons?
we’re born and we live
and we laugh and we love and
try to be happy
all the while knowing
life keeps moving along and
we don’t know the whys
the hows nor what fors
and sometimes that’s okay and
other times no way
we wake up and see
ourselves in the mirror and
wonder the reasons.
