PERISH IS THE WORD

perish is the word i use to describe
all the feelings that i have make me sick from you inside
you don’t know how many times i wish that i had told you
you don’t know how many times i wish that i could scold you
you don’t know how many times i wish that i had sold you
up the river in the hope you would perish like i perished too

yes it’s true
perished too

cherish is the word that just never applies
to the hope in my soul whenever i realize
that i’m not gonna be the one you give bad dreams
and i’m not gonna be the one for all your schemes
and i’m not gonna be the one who learns the hard way
each and every day to perish in the way i watched you perish too

and you do
perish too

sure i could say i love you, but i’d be lying now
cause i abhor you, you’re such a sullen cow
you say you love me, again with all your lies
and then you want to touch my face, my hands and gaze into my eyes

perish is the word i use to explain
all the feelings that i have drive me practically insane
you don’t know how many times i wish i could forget you
you don’t know how many times i wish i never met you
you don’t know how many times i wish that i had let you
pass on by that day to perish in the way that i’ve perished too

yes it’s true
perished too

perish is the word.

  1. If you were going to pick any song to mock, parody or otherwise destroy, “Cherish” was the perfect one. There’s some truly awful music out there – you could do a whole series. Maybe you should take suggestions!

  2. Wow! – where did all this come from? Excellent parody although I have to admit that “Cherish” was one of my favorite songs in the 60’s. You had to be there 🙂 Hope I haven’t lost your respect. haha! Great post!
