IN THE MORNING

i’ll see you next time
in the morning
we’ll be together again
in the day
until then i bid you good tidings

and for all that i wish
for a lot that and more
when the sun does come up
and the dark turns to dawn
i’ll be there

my heart jumps for joy
in an instant
when somebody may
say your name
i think you can tell i adore you

yes for all that i see
when i’m making my rounds
in the morning please know
that it’s you on my mind
i’ll be there

  1. I like the stylistic choice of having the lower case ‘i’. Sometimes in poetry the capitals leap out at me and distract from the flow of the poem itself, so I felt this was a good choice. 🙂
